To remove the glovebox you need to remove the trim piece (normally silver, unless you have wood/CF trim) from above it by sliding a screwdriver into the slots in the bottom to release the catches then slide it down to expose 3 screws, remove them then take out the under dash panel by removing the 3 screws at its front 111 posts 路 Joined 2013. #1 路 Jan 3, 2015. i already checked the main fusebox, the fuses located on the left side of the steering wheel and the ones located in the right side of the trunk. Fuses but i have not been able to find the other fuse box that contains the fuse for the cooling fan. i think in newer models that fuse box was moved to Windscreen wipers not working. My SLK 200 has been sitting for some time and windscreen wipers are now not working. I have checked the 40A fuse which is ok. Anyone else had this problem or does anyone have a wiring diagram for the wiper motor. I also noticed that the windscreen washer does not work either btw if this is relevant in some way. 1999 mercedes benz slk hard top some times wont open and some time gets stuck down. Most likely the relay, located beside the motor is faulty. The contacts get sticky. The relay is about 30.00. Take the plastic cover off the motor and you will see the relay. Its a standard type so most decent shops will have them. It even has the correct fuse slots and relays in use for the R171 SLK. Can't really make out the higher numbered fuses (#17-#20) but everything else is where it should be. The Front SAM is much larger with even more connections and a bazillion relays . There should be a slip of paper in the fuse box with all the fuse designations on. If not print one out and put it there. Used a "piggyback" fuse breakout thingy (search addafuse) to get at the power. For the switched i used the 12V socket in the passenger footwell. It鈥檒l be in the underbonnet fuse box, on the driver鈥檚 side of the car, but they change a bit from year to year. There should be s legend on the underside of the lid. My name is Cameron and I have had a 2001 SLK320 for a few years now. I am new to the forum and figured I would see if someone has heard of my new problem. I am having a problem with my convertible hardtop as of a few days ago. It is currently in the retracted (down) position and I hey everyone I'm needing some adviceI have a 99 SLK230 and everytime I push the brake pedal in it blows the tail lamp fuse in my fuse box that is on the inside of the drivers side door. The BAS ASR warning lights come on, I lose cruise control and no brake lights. I have replaced the brake light switch above the brake pedal and it worked for Hi guys, my 2001 SLK320 has the dreaded BAS/ESP light on. I installed new brake light switch, no change. Took to indy garage who pulled two codes C1000 "ESP/BAS control unit N47-5 unit faulty: and code C1529 "Precharging of control module N47-5 not available". He is pretty sure that the car needs a new BAS/ESP module located on the ABS pump. The K40 relay is located in the control module box, under the hood. In left-hand-drive R170 SLKs, this box is near the exhaust manifold. A heat shield and a blower motor keep the electronics in the box cool. A non-functioning blower can be a root cause. U2dO.
